CHARLES EDWARD’S entertainment center will close April 24, the owner announced Friday.
Charles Edward Entertainment Center, which was located on West Street in Springhill, will close at 6 p.m.
It was opened in February with seating for 500 people.
The company’s general manager, Jim Hildebrand, said Friday that the closing is a loss to the community.
“We’ve done so much for the community and so much good for the businesses that have been here,” Hildebrand said.
The Charles Edward facility was the oldest entertainment center in the city and had been home to the family-owned Charles Edward family for decades.
In 2016, the Charles Edward entertainment center was among the first properties in the Springhill area to open its doors.
In 2018, it opened its doors to new tenants and reopened its doors in 2019.
“It was a beautiful place to work,” Hildegard said of the Charles Ed’s former home.
“I loved my job.
I loved my customers.
And the people who came here, they were always welcoming.”
