Fox Entertainment announced in 2016 that it would purchase the former NBC Universal Television Studios in Beverly Hills, California for $2.4 billion, and that the Fox Silo Entertainment Center would be its entertainment hub.
Now, the center has officially opened.
Fox has been expanding into new territories, including Asia, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and the U.S., and the center will be fully operational in 2019.
The center, which is named for the original Fox Television Studios, is the latest addition to Fox’s entertainment footprint in the United States, following its acquisition of the now-defunct Disney Channel and the purchase of the Fox Sports channel.
At the same time, the Fox entertainment hub is also taking the place of the former Fox Studios, which closed in 2020 after being closed for more than 20 years.
The original Fox Entertainment Studios was located in the Beverly Hills neighborhood, and featured a large auditorium that could seat more than 50,000 people.
According to Fox, the new Fox Entertainment Center will be “the largest indoor entertainment complex in the U
